Behind every beer company.. lies a story filled with inspiration, hope, and dedication. Such is truly with the twin fork beer company and its twin brother founders dan and Pete Chekijian. Currently the proud owners of a brand new brewery, distribution center, and tasting room located in Riverhead NY.
They were born in 1971 in a little farmhouse in Calverton NY to George and Anita Chekijian. Their father came from Woodside Queens, an organic chemist and college professor whose impressive knowledge of chemistry led to a successful business manufacturing and selling his own trademarked industrial-grade cleaning products,
The twin’s mother was born in Austria, emigrated at a young age to Brooklyn, and later met her husband at the same college he proctored.
Music was embraced in the Chekijian household, a result of their father’s proud distinction of being a classically trained pianist (his instructor was a student of Franz Lizst). all of the boys including their younger brother Aram, took piano lessons and later moved on to instruments of their choice. Aram continued the trend and now plays and records professionally.
this love and respect for music later led to the use of the tuning fork as the iconic logo of the twin fork beer company. proudly shown on all of the packagings, it is also their symbolic tap handle, seen in many bars and restaurants.
as a further testament to their family’s melodious ties, all of their signature products bear appellations such as “Chromatic” ale, “Crescendo” IPA, “Sonata” lager ale.
Armed with the influences of their mother’s assiduous work ethic and their father’s gifted chemist skills, the boys grew into adulthood with a shared dream – to build a brewery and produce the finest tasting beer possible.
That vision has finally been fulfilled on the grounds of their family-owned property at 807 Raynor ave Riverhead NY 11901
